Installing Solaris 10 on a PC
Ok, there I am. I installed Solaris 10 (3/05) on a PC at work. :-)
The installation went very smoothly, was very easy, not much different from the previous ones.
But... yes, there is a but...
I seem to have a problem with my graphic...
Basically, it doesn't manage to start the Xserver.
The PC is a Fujitsu Siemens Xs 1171 with onboard graphic chip Intel 810E.
This chipset is supposed to be supported with Solaris 10 using Xorg.
I tried to xorgconfig but it still fails with error saying there is no driver for agpgart...
Surfing the net, I found some agpgart driver for Linux but not for Solaris...
Well, the driver should be included in the version of Solaris 10 Express 11/2005 that just went out. I haven't downloaded it yet and I will try it soon.
But I feel pretty frustated no to be able to make it work with the earlier version.
Anybody knows how to work this around ?
Help welcome
